Olympian and Women’s 100m hurdles Sri Lanka record holder Sriyani Kulawansa has been appointed as the Chairperson of the National Sports Selection Committee (NSSC).
The newly-appointed members of the NSSC received their letters of appointment at the Ministry of Sports.
The event was held under the patronage Youth Affairs and Sports of Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage and Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Thilakaratne.
The National Sports Selection Committee, which will be chaired by Sriyani Kulawansa, consists of eight members. The new members of the NSSC are: Chairperson Sriyani Kulawansa, Secretary Maj. General Ravi Pathiravithana, Coordination Officer Maj. Rajitha Samarasekara, Ministry of Sports Rtd. Sports Officer Kamal Gamlath, Sussex College School Sports Deputy Director Ruwan Perera, Hatton National Bank Rtd. Bank Officer Jayamini Eleperuma, National Olympic Committee President Suresh Subramaniam, and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Additional Secretary Anuradha Eleperuma.
