The Annual Softball Cricket Tournament, organised by the Sri Lanka Food Processors Association (SLFPA), was held on 14 February 2026 at the Thurstan College Sports Complex, Colombo 7. Forty teams, comprising both men and women from thirty member companies, competed for the coveted SLFPA Challenge Shield. Conducted on a league basis, the tournament fostered interaction, strengthened professional relationships, and promoted camaraderie among employees of the participating companies.

The participating teams represented a diverse range of sectors, including processed food, processed beverages, machinery and packaging, international food certification, food ingredients, and casual dining. This tournament remains a key fixture in the calendars of processed food industry members, bringing professionals together in a spirit of enjoyment and sportsmanship, while this year also accommodating the families of participating teams.

Champions of the tournament, Team Finagle Lanka Ltd., triumphed over runners-up Team Country Style Foods Ltd., with the Plate awarded to C.W. Mackie PLC. Prabash Abeywardena and Sithumini Peiris of Finagle Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. were recognised as Man and Woman of the Match respectively.

Participants also actively engaged in complementary events, including the karaoke competition, dancing contest, and best marquee challenge. In the Best Male and Female Singer categories, Chathuranga Kodithuwakku of CMC Engineering Export GmbH was named Male Winner, with Chathura De Silva of SGS Lanka Ltd., as Runner-up. In the Female category, Kushanthi Ramachandran of Indexpo Certification Ltd. was crowned Winner, while Hasini Kaneshika of C. D. De Fonseka & Sons Ltd., secured Runner-up.

Showcasing incredible talent on the dance floor, Rajesh Kanna of Control Union Inspections Ltd., was awarded Best Male Dancer 1st place, with Nuwan Kumara of Cargills Convenient Foods Ltd., as Runner-Up. Ravindi Fernando of Control Union Inspections Ltd., won 1st place in the Female category, followed by Lakshani Bandaranayake of Neochem International Ltd., in 2nd place.

The Best Decorated Marquee award was presented to Control Union Inspections Ltd., with SGS Lanka Ltd., securing 2nd place.
