The 145th FA Cup final will be played today at Wembley Stadium in London, with Chelsea taking on Manchester City in the first FA Cup final meeting between the two clubs.
Manchester City enter the final seeking a domestic treble after already securing the League Cup and remaining in contention for the Premier League title. Pep Guardiola’s side also make history by becoming the first club to appear in four consecutive FA Cup finals.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are aiming to win the competition for the ninth time despite a turbulent campaign marked by managerial changes. The London club currently sits ninth in the Premier League standings, with interim manager Calum McFarlane overseeing the side.
City reached the final after defeating Southampton in the semi-finals, while Chelsea booked their place with a 1-0 win over Leeds United.
The latest meeting between the sides came in the Premier League on 12 April, when Manchester City recorded a 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have won the FA Cup eight times, most recently in 2022, while City last lifted the trophy in 2023 and have seven titles overall. Arsenal remain the competition’s most successful club with 14 FA Cup victories.
