England yesterday clinched a stunning victory over India by 22 runs in the third Test at Lords to get 2:1 advantage in the 5-match series.
Needing 193 runs to win, India was bowled out just after tea for 170. Ravindra Jadeja was unbeaten with a fighting 61 off 181 balls after Indian top order collapsed. India were 112-8 when Jadeja was joined by Number 10 Jasprit Bumrah. They were together for almost 22 overs until Stokes, who bowled tirelessly from the Nursery End, drew Bumrah into a pull to mid-on. Bumrah’s contribution to a stand of 35 was five from 54 balls.
Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer took 3 wickets each whilst Shohaib Bashir took the last wicket of Mohammed Shiraj who faced 30 balls for his 4 runs.
