Double injury blow for Lanka ahead of India series

Sri Lanka’s preparation for the six-match white ball series against India has suffered a double blow with wicket-keeper-batsman Kusal Perera and fast bowler Binura Fernando both suffering injuries and being ruled out of the contest.

Perera has suffered a right shoulder sprain during training and Fernando has sprained his left ankle during a practice session on Thursday. His injury has been diagnosed as a lateral ligament sprain.

Sri Lanka has named a 25-member squad for the two series (ODI and T20I) and will replace the two injured players from it.The three-match ODI series starts on Sunday (18 July) at the R Premadasa Stadium.
