Dialog Axiata PLC, has once again strengthened its partnership with Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR), coming on board as the official Telecommunication Partner. In a move that reaffirms its unwavering dedication to the sport, Dialog returns to the rugby fold after having served as the principal sponsor until 2022, continuing its legacy of supporting and uplifting Sri Lankan sports at every level.
Adding to this commitment, Dialog’s subsidiary, ThePapare has signed on as the Official Broadcasting Partner of SLR. All matches of the upcoming Sri Lanka Rugby League Men’s 2025/26 season will be broadcast live on ThePapare TV via Dialog Television and streamed on the ViU App, ensuring fans around the world can experience every tackle, try, and conversion in real time.
The ten-week season will kick off today (14 November) with a much-anticipated clash between Havelock Sports Club and Navy Sports Club at Havelock Park. The opening weekend will also see Air Force SC take on Army SC in Ratmalana, Sri Lions battle CR & FC at Havelock Park, and CH & FC meet Police SC at the Race Course Grounds. Defending champions Kandy SC, the tournament favourites, will sit out the opening week with a bye.
As the tournament unfolds, fans can expect a series of high-voltage encounters. Week 2 will see Navy SC host Kandy SC in a blockbuster at Welisara, while Week 4 brings another major showdown between Army SC and Kandy SC at Panagoda. The league will culminate with a potential title decider between Kandy SC and Havelock SC on January 18, 2026, in Nittawala.
The 2025/26 Dialog Rugby League will feature nine elite clubs—Kandy SC, Havelock SC, CR & FC, CH & FC, Navy SC, Army SC, Air Force SC, Police SC, and Sri Lions—competing across ten action-packed weeks, with each side playing eight matches and enjoying one bye.
Dialog’s renewed partnership with Sri Lanka Rugby reflects its broader vision of empowering Sri Lankan sport.
