Dialog Axiata powers 2026 Schools Rugby Season for sixth year

  • Top-notch tournament will see over 2,500 players from 90 schools

Dialog Axiata PLC, has once again for the 6th Year in 2026,  joined hands with the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association to power the Dialog Schools Rugby Season.

 Following the success of last year, this season kicks off with the Knock-Out Tournament, featuring sixteen top schools competing for the prestigious President’s Trophy, beginning on 11  March 2026. This will be followed by the League Tournament, which will see over 2,500 players from 90 schools vying for the coveted Dialog Schools Rugby League 2026 title.

The Knock-Out Tournament promises to showcase the finest school rugby talent in Sri Lanka, with matches held across multiple venues in Colombo. The tournament opens on 11 March with St. Peter’s College taking on Ananda College at Royal Sports Complex and Trinity College facing Thurstan College at CR&FC the opening Match for Dialog Schools Rugby , with both matches scheduled for 4:15 p.m. Wesley College and Mahanama College will clash on 13 March at Royal Sports Complex, also with a 4:15 p.m. kickoff.

On 14 March, spectators can look forward to three thrilling pre-quarter fixtures. Isipathana College meets Science College at Royal Grounds, while St. Joseph’s College faces Kingswood College at Havelock Grounds, both at 4:15 p.m. D. S. Senanayake College will take on Zahira College at CR&FC Grounds at 7:15 p.m.

The action continues on 15 March, starting at CR&FC Grounds with Royal College facing St. Anthony’s College under lights at 7:15 p.m. S. Thomas’ College will also clash with Sri Sumangala at 4:15 p.m. at Havelock Grounds.

Quarter-finals are scheduled for 21 and 22 March, followed by semi-finals on 28 and 29 March. The tournament will culminate in the grand finale on 4 April at either Sugathadasa Stadium or the Royal Sports Complex
