In an exhilarating Day 2 of the Sri Lanka Golf National Ranking Tournament, youngster Kumar Dhanushan and M.H. Chalitha Pushpika, both tied at the top with an aggregate score of 146 on both days, but Kumar took the lead due to his lower score on Day 2 at the Victoria Golf Resort in Rajawella yesterday.
Experienced Chanaka Perera was placed third with an overall score of 149. Chanaka had 76 and 73 brought him to a total of 149. With one day left to play, Perera’s tenacity will be key if he hopes to climb further up the leaderboard and challenge the front runners.
Priya Hemantha was placed 4th with 74 and 76 with an overall score of 150. Kushal Johnpillai – 82 and 72 (154) was 5th.
Kushal Johnpillai bounced back impressively after a slow start of 82, posting a remarkable 72 in the second round. His resilience highlights the unpredictability of the tournament, and if he can maintain this momentum, he could make a significant move on the leaderboard.
Reshan Algama took 6th place with 79 and 75 (154).His ability to make adjustments between rounds could prove beneficial as the final day approaches.As the tournament progresses, it is important to note that Jacob Norton, a favourite could not make the cut of 15 golfers.
Sithara Lorence was placed on top among the Girls. Day 3 and last day of golf will take place today at Rajawella.
