• SLC Election Committee receives 81 nominations for AGM 

The Sri Lanka Cricket Election Committee has received a total of 81 nominations for the upcoming SLC elections scheduled to take place on 20 May.

The SLC Election Committee comprising Justice Malani Gunaratne, retired judge of the Court of Appeal, Shiromi Perera, retired judge of the High Court and Sunil Sirisena, retired senior public official of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service are currently in the process of going through each and every application before making it public.

Daily FT understands that the current office‒bearers have also handed over their nominations with the objective of being re-elected to the same positions, which means that incumbent president Shammi Silva will be seeking re‒election to the post along with secretary Mohan de Silva and other office‒bearers.

The receiving of nominations took place on Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. and concluded at 3:30 p.m. the same day. (ST)
