The Dialog Schools Rugby League Plate segment enters a vital stage with three compelling fixtures scheduled between 25 to 27.
As teams jostle for final standings, the upcoming games promise intense action, especially with pride and positioning on the line.
Kingswood College will host Ananda College at the historic Bogambara Stadium today (25 July) in what is expected to be a key Plate encounter. On form, the lads from Randles Hill have the upper hand. Kingswood have shown renewed energy and purpose this season, combining physical forward play with sharp backline execution. Playing at home in front of a passionate crowd gives them an added edge. Ananda, while capable, have lacked consistency and will need to raise their game significantly if they are to challenge the Kingswoodians. Ananda are in top division after a long layoff in lower divisions.

The action shifts to Colombo the next day, 26 July as St. Joseph’s College take on Zahira College at Longdon Place. Zahira have endured a frustrating campaign, having missed a few matches and narrowly losing others despite spirited performances. They will be keen to finally convert their efforts into a win and gain momentum. The Joes, however, have looked structured and resilient, especially in close games. Their superior set-piece control could be the deciding factor in this showdown. later in the first half lads from Darley Road got back to form. Joes are one of the firm favoured teams in the Plate segment.

On 27 July the Plate week wraps up in the Central Hills when Sri Sumangala College host D. S. Senanayake College at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekele. This promises to be a thrilling, evenly-matched battle. Both sides have been competitive throughout the season and boast well-balanced squads. With attacking flair and strong defences on display, this clash is wide open, and could come down to discipline and execution in key moments.
