  • Historic, long-term collaboration with Italian footballing giant reshapes country’s sports landscape for boys and girls aged 5 to 17
  • Announces Elite Camp in Milan in July, fifth camp in 15 months

In a historic milestone for Sri Lankan sports, the Colombo Athletic and Football Academy is celebrating its 15-month anniversary by establishing itself as the nation’s premier destination for youth football development.

Through an exclusive, long-term collaboration with the world-famous AC Milan Junior Academy of Italy—the first and only partnership of its kind with an international footballing giant in Sri Lanka—the academy is bringing a shift with introducing the AC Milan system, a successful footballing culture for the next generation.

Since its inception just over a year ago, the Academy has fast-tracked its vision by successfully executing four international AC Milan camps. Demonstrating an unprecedented commitment to local talent, three of these high-profile week long camps were hosted locally in Colombo, while one elite camp took players directly to Milan, the home base of the world famous club.

The Academy recently concluded successfully its fourth camp in Colombo. The week-long intensive program brought down official AC Milan Academy Italian coach, Davide Battistini, who imparted the legendary "Milan Way" directly to Sri Lankan youth.

The camp concluded with a celebratory graduation ceremony where participating boys and girls, aged 5 to 17, were awarded official AC Milan certificates.

Colombo Athletic/AC Milan Junior Academy Sri Lanka President Ajai Vir Singh said: "When we launched 15 months ago, our goal was to bridge the gap between Sri Lankan youth and world-class football. Bringing the 125-year legacy of AC Milan to Colombo is not just about teaching skills; it's about shifting the mindset of our young athletes. Hosting four international camps in such a short span proves our dedication to creating a sustainable, elite pathway for both boys and girls in Sri Lanka. We are also announcing the 5th camp which is the Elite camp it will be in Milan along with young international athletes from 40 countries, this is an amazing opportunity for young generation of Sri Lanka."

By introducing AC Milan’s time-tested training methodologies, the Academy is fostering an inclusive, high-performance environment that focuses on technical skill, tactical intelligence, and personal growth.

The academy in Colombo regularly gives scholarships to young talented players, this is part of the plan to introduce this culture of excellence at grass root levels. This initiative will continue.

Building on the massive momentum of the April camp, the Colombo Athletic and Football Club Academy is already looking toward the horizon. The academy is thrilled to announce its next Elite Camp taking place this July in Milan, Italy.

This upcoming experience will allow advanced young players to travel to Europe and train directly at the historic home of AC Milan. While the academy’s primary focus remains firmly rooted in building a strong foundation through its year-round Colombo operations, this July trip offers a rare, aspirational peak into global football for local players.

The Academy invites parents and young football enthusiasts (boys and girls aged 5–17) to join the ranks of Sri Lanka’s most progressive football movement and experience elite training under the guidance of top-tier UEFA-licensed coaches.
