Warnakulasuriya to go as interim Head Coach to West Indies

Sri Lanka Women’s cricketers will have a new Head Coach from Australia to succeed Rumesh Ratnayake.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) CEO Ashley de Silva said that the new coach will be on a one-year contract and that SLC will make the appointment official shortly.

In the meantime, for the Sri Lanka women’s tour of the West Indies next month, Sumithra ‘Charlie’ Warnakulasuriya will go as the interim Head Coach.

Warnakulasuriya is currently a Consultant Coach of the women’s team and he will perform both roles in the West Indies.

de Silva said that after the appointment of a new Head Coach, Warnakulasuriya would continue in his role as Consultant Coach.
