Clubs to continue winning vein on Day 2

SLC Major Clubs 50-over tournament

CCC, Moors SC, Tamil Union and Police SC who began the Major Clubs 50-over tournament with wins on the opening day will look to consolidate their positions in their respective groups when the second day of matches commence today.

In a card of six, CCC take on BRC at the BRC grounds, and Moors SC meet Colts in their home territory. Tamil Union will host NCC at the P Sara Oval, while Police SC will do the same with Panadura SC who are coming out for the first time at Police grounds.

Defending champions Ace Capital CC who suffered defeat at the hands of Tamil Union on the opening day will look for a win against Badureliya CC whom they meet at the Surrey Village grounds in Maggona.

Major League 3-day champions Bloomfield will also want to make their presence felt after losing their opening match. They meet Kurunegala YCC who will be playing their first match of the tournament at the Colts grounds.

14 clubs are vying for the Major Clubs 50-over title with the top two teams of each group going into the semi-finals, and then the final.

The groupings:

Group A: Ace Capital CC, NCC, Badureliya CC, Tamil Union, Chilaw Marians CC, Police SC and Panadura SC

Group B: CCC, Moors SC, BRC, Colts, Nugegoda SWC, Bloomfield and Kurunegala YCC. (ST)
