Ciputra Junior Golf 2025: Reshan ends tied at 7th position

Sri Lanka’s Reshan Algama continued with his fine form and tied 7th place at the Ciputra Junior Masters 2025 which concluded in Jakarta, Indonesia yesterday.

The 17-year-old displayed immense composure and consistency across all three days, carding an even-par final round to complete the tournament with a gross score of 215 one under par for the tournament of the prestigious event. He tied with the Indian golfer Major Rakhra.

In a highly competitive field featuring the best 69 junior golfers across Asia. Indonesia’s Rayhan Abdul Latief clinched the title with a commanding score of 205, while Shinichi Suziki of the Philippines and India’s Harman Sachdeva followed closely behind, sharing second place at 206. Parin Sarasmut too ended on similar scores tied on number 2 position.

Reshan did well by securing top 10 in the recently concluded Nepal Amateur Championship showing his consistency and rapid growth on the international stage. Back-to-back Top 10 finishes at premier junior tournaments represent a noteworthy achievement for Sri Lanka in the realm of amateur golf, further elevating the country’s profile in the sport.

Sri Lanka’s other competitor Jevahn Sathasivam after two challenging days fought back gallantly to end on 36th position with a total score of 230. (SJ)
