Christ Church win Central Province Schools Hockey 2018

Christ Church College, Matale defeated St. Thomas’ College Matale to win the Central Province Schools Hockey Championship 2018 which was worked off at Edward Park in Matale recently.

Ashen Bandara and Sampath Dissnayake scored a goal each in the finals. In the semi-finals, the Matale Thomians beat Dharamaraja College 4-2 while Christ Church got the better of Zahira College, Matale 3-0. In the third place play-off Zahira College Matale beat the Rajans 2-1. All three top-performing teams will represent the Central Province at the National Schools Hockey Championship which will soon be worked off. (SJ)
