The SLG Ranking Tournament at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) witnessed an impressive display of skill and determination, as seasoned golfer Chalitha Pushpika secured the title with a commanding total score of 278. His consistency across all four rounds set him apart from the competition, reaffirming his reputation as one of Sri Lanka’s top golfers.
The tournament saw young talent making significant strides, with Reshan Algama delivering a remarkable performance to finish as the runner-up. After starting Day 2 in fourth place, Algama displayed exceptional resilience and precision, ultimately carding a total score of 287.
Jacob Norton, who had shared the lead with Pushpika after Day 1, settled for third place with a total score of 289. Despite a strong start, he struggled to maintain momentum over the final rounds, finishing just behind Algama.
The tournament, which attracted the country’s top-ranked golfers, saw 15 players making the cut after the second day. Chalitha and Reshan qualified to play in the Pakistan Amateur Series which usually takes place in April every year in Karachi with the invitations to be received shortly.
