CR and FC will look to fire on all bullets when they take on Navy Sports Club at Welisara today fully aware that anything less than a commanding victory could further dent their league ambitions.

The Reds opened their campaign in emphatic fashion with a convincing win over Sri Lions and followed it up by edging Army Sports Club in a shortened encounter. However, their shock home defeat to CH and FC has left them under pressure, making this fixture a must-win encounter.

With hopes of reclaiming the league title still alive, CR cannot afford further slips. On current form and squad depth, they hold a clear edge over Navy and will be targeting a bonus-point win. Led by Lasindu Karunathilake and well supported by Mursheed Doray and Omalka Gunaratne, CR possess the attacking flair and structured forward play to dominate proceedings over the full eighty minutes. Reds are coached by Dushanth Lewke.

Navy Sports Club, despite showing early promise with a draw against Havelock Sports Club, have struggled to maintain momentum. Losses to defending champions Kandy Sports Club and the in-form Air Force Sports Club have highlighted their inconsistencies. Led by Denuwan Wickremaratne, with support from Isuru Kongahawatte and Thilina Weerasinghe, Navy will aim to lift their game on home turf.

On the same day, Sri Lions and Police Sports Club will meet at Longdon Place in a keenly contested basement battle. With both teams still searching for their first win, pride, discipline and execution will be key in what is expected to be a closely fought encounter.
