Action at Air Force vs Police

Omalka Gunaratne of CR about to score a try
CR and FC strengthened their campaign with another impressive performance, securing a 19/0 win over Sri Lanka Army in a weather-shortened encounter at Panagoda yesterday.
The Red Shirts were in command from the outset, showing the sharpness and intent of a side determined to reclaim the League title this season.
Before the game was halted at halftime due to heavy rain and lightning, CR made their mark through tries from skipper Lasindu Karunathilake, Venura Kodagoda, and Omalka Gunaratne. Thenuka Nanayakkara converted two, giving the visitors a healthy lead and reaffirming their attacking rhythm.
Army had their moments but failed to capitalise, repeatedly thwarted by CR’s organised and disciplined defence. The Reds’ ability to close down space and absorb pressure highlighted the significant improvements in their structure and mindset.
Although denied a bonus point, CR will gladly take the win as they continue their unbeaten streak and keep their title ambitions firmly on track.
