CBL’s ‘Munchee’ to power 2025 National Volleyball Championships

The 2025 National Volleyball Championships conducted by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation will be powered by ‘Munchee’ the flagship brand of Ceylon Biscuit Ltd.

This year’s championships will be held in two categories namely, the National Super League Volleyball Championship for nine men’s and seven women’s teams which comprise of top tier players and a Novices Championship open to both male and female players who have not represented the national volleyball teams in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The following sixteen (9 men and 7 women) teams have been invited to participate at this year’s National Super League Volleyball Championship:

Men: Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Police, Ceylon Electricity Board, Sri Lanka Ports Authority, University Sports Club, National Youth Council and Maliban Sports Club [Mercantile Super League Category Champions]

Women: Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Police, Sri Lanka Ports Authority, University Sports Club and Casual Line Sports Club [Mercantile Super League Category Champions]

The National Super League Championship will be worked off at the Department of Sports Development’s indoor stadium in Watupitiwela from 2-6 December.

Any number of teams [male and female] can enter for the Novices Championships as long as they don’t register any player who has represented the national team in 2023, 2024 or 2025. Entries for the Novices Championships close on 5 November and the district level matches will commence on 22 November. The two champion teams [male and female] from each district will qualify for their respective provincial championship and the two teams that emerge champions in each provinces will battle it out on 15 and 16 December.

Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation President Senior DIG Sajeewa Medawatte said that the Novice Championship will serve to identify talented volleyball players in the country and every player and team will be registered in the Federation’s data base.
