Former England sevens sensation, Ben Gollings will be the Head Coach for Sri Lanka’s Men Rugby

outfit. He handled the national sevens outfit sometime back as well.

The outfit will have Nilfer Ibrahim as their Assistant Coach. Nilfer, who played his rugby at Kingswood, played for Kandy SC and ended his rugby career at Navy SC. He was also involved in coaching school teams, such as Isipathana, Trinity, St. Joseph’s and Kingswood. On an earlier occasion, he had coaching stints with Sri Lanka Rugby at junior and senior levels. Saliya Kumara will be the Head Coach for the women’s outfit, with Sujani Ratnayake to assist him.

Sri Lanka Rugby outfit will have five tournaments in 2022 at the sevens event. They will have three legs of Asia Rugby Sevens (venues yet to be confirmed), Asian Games (China), and Commonwealth Games (England).
