Bangladesh take lead in Under-19 Youth ODI series

  • Win 3rd Under-19 ODI by 39 runs (D/L method)

The touring Bangladesh Under-19 cricketers took a 2-1 lead in the 6-match Under-19 Youth ODI series when they beat Sri Lanka by 39 runs (D/L method) in a rain-affected third match played at Colts grounds yesterday.

The match was first reduced to 28 overs and Bangladesh winning the toss rattled off 144-2 riding on skipper Azizul Hakim’s 67* off 84 balls (3 fours, 2 sixes).

Sri Lanka set a revised target of 160 to chase off 22 overs, lost their top four batters for 33 and managed only 120-7 with Kavija Gamage making a top score of 32* off 30 balls (5 fours, 1 six).

The fourth match of the series will take place at the CCC grounds on Saturday.
