Fast bowler Asitha Fernando became the latest casualty for Sri Lanka when he was ruled out of the Bangladesh tour with a hamstring injury.

The selectors have not yet selected the teams for the ODI and Test series, but Fernando is unlikely to be part of both as his injury is likely to keep him out of cricket for at least 3-4 weeks.

Fernando suffered the injury during Dambulla’s NSL 50-over match against Galle at Pallekele on 29 February where he left the field after bowling 2.5 overs.

Lahiru Kumara is expected to fill the void left by Fernando in both ODIs and Tests. – (ST)
