Asia Rugby U20 in Bihar, India

Asia Rugby Emirates U20s Sevens 2025 will take place in Rajgir, Bihar in India on 9 and 10 August, marking a significant milestone in the growth of youth rugby across South Asia. This will be the first time in history that Bihar will be hosting an international rugby event.

A total of 16 teams, eight men’s and eight women’s teams, will compete over two days in a round-robin format, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the Cup semi-finals. The remaining teams will compete for the Plate, ensuring competitive rugby throughout the tournament. The  Asia Rugby Emirates Under 20s Sevens 2025 will feature China, Hong Kong China, India, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan, all sending both men’s and women’s teams. Malaysia will compete in the men’s competition only, while Nepal will be represented in the women’s tournament.

The Sri Lanka outfit, led by Shaahid Zumri, will leave the island on 7 August to lock horns in this event coached by Shamli Nawas. (SJ)
