Indian Golfer, Dwivedi Samarath, Chouhan Omprakash and Bangladesh golfer, Hossain Jamal booked the top three positions in the Dialog Sri Lanka Open Golf Championship 2023 which saw its second day being worked off at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) in Colombo yesterday. Anura Rohana was pushed down to number 4 yesterday.

Dwivedi had two impressive initial two days totalling 133 to secure top position with some magnificent golf on day 2 when he scored 61 which was class above the rest and it was golf at its best at RCGC. Dwivedi equalled the course record at RCGC held by Nandasena Perera and Anura Rohana.

Meanwhile his countryman Chouhan aggregate was 134 closely followed by Jamal at 135. Sri Lankan veteran golfer Anura Rohana after an impressive opening day score of 67 was a yard slower on day 2 ending on 70 which pushed him to number 4 but bound to bounce back.

Youngster, Reshan Algama too had an ordinary day for his high standards when he ended 4 over to drop down in his rating to number 10 tied with Chalitha Pushpika, Chanaka Perera and Indian Jajbir Singh. Haroon Aslam who is studying in USA got in with a 27th position. Haroon missed out on short putts to miss out on many birdies which cost him in the ranking but made the cut in the end.

Another youngster who missed out the cut was the 15-year-old, Jevahn Sathasivam who had a great start but was waivered in the 7th hole which was costly as he hit a 7 and 6 on the 12th hole. He ended on 48th missing out on the cut.

The cut was based on the first two days of scores with the best 36 being selected for day 3. The tee off for round 3 will start from number 36, 35 and 34 who will be in the first flight at 8.30 a.m. today (1 June).
