Air Force clear leaders in Plate segment

Inter Club A-Division Rugby League 2025/26 Plate Segment will have its one final last round commencing today with Air Force hosting Police in a rehearsal of Plate Final at Ratmalana at 4 p.m.

This encounter has all the high-intensity rehearsal, as both sides have already sealed their places in the Plate Final, scheduled for either 20 or 21 February at the same venue. Air Force have been the standout performers of the Plate segment, showing consistency to establish themselves as clear leaders clearly finding themselves been should have ended in the Cup segment.

Police SC, close behind, have matched them stride for stride and will be eager to test combinations and make a psychological statement ahead of the final showdown. Towards the super round Police became a force to be not underestimated.

On 14 February, we’ll see Navy Sports Club welcome Army Sports Club to the Navy Grounds in Welisara for the other Plate segment fixture. Both teams will be keen to end their campaign on a positive note, with Navy aiming to exploit home advantage while Army look to show their physicality. The team ending last in the plate segment will need to play Sri Lions in a pre-quarter final encounter in the Clifford Cup knock out championship which will be worked off soon after the league.
