Ahan Wickramasinghe struck a brilliant century and Nipun Dananjaya a sedate 88 to enable Sri Lanka Emerging Players beat West Indies Academy by five wickets and take a 1-0 lead in the three-match unofficial ODI series played at North Sound on Saturday.
Spinner Traveen Mathew and seamer Garuka Sanketh took three wickets each to dismiss West Indies Academy for 237.
Sri Lanka Emerging lost their first three wickets for 71 in 14 overs before a 155-run stand between Dananjaya (88 off 125 balls, 7 fours, 2 sixes) and Wickramasinghe (103 off 79 balls, 10 fours, 2 sixes) carried them to victory with 62 balls to spare. The second unofficial ODI will be played on 24 June at Coolidge.
