Thailand’s Achiraya Sriwong produced a brilliant final-round performance to capture the Girls’ Championship, while South Korea’s sensational junior golfer Jeyi Son claimed the Boys’ Championship at the 2026 APGC Junior Golf Championship, which concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club last weekend.
Achiraya carded a superb six-under-par final round to finish with an aggregate score of 204, comfortably securing the girls’ title after three days of impressive golf.
Sri Lanka’s leading contender, Kaya Daluwatte, delivered a commendable performance throughout the tournament to finish tied for fourth place with a total score of 210, emerging as one of the competition’s top performers.
In the Boys’ Championship, South Korea’s Jeyi Son dominated the field with a remarkable 10-under-par aggregate to claim the title. Sri Lanka’s Adithya Weerasinghe also impressed, finishing ninth overall at two-over par.
India captured the Boys’ Team Championship, while the Sri Lankan duo of Adithya Weerasinghe and Lavidu Premarathna finished ninth among the 17 participating teams.
Thailand added the Girls’ Team Championship title, while Sri Lanka’s Kaya Daluwatte and Sithara Lorance placed ninth in the 13-team competition.
South Korea claimed top honours in the Mixed Team event, while Sri Lanka’s pairing of Lavidu Premarathna and Kaya Daluwatte finished eighth among 10 teams.
More than 150 junior golfers from across the Asia-Pacific region competed in the prestigious tournament. The Sri Lankan team was coached by Mithun Perera and managed by Tharanga Gunasekera.
