Kavindu Amameth top scorer for Ace Capital CC

Ace Capital CC held the whip hand at the end of day one of their Under23 Inter-Club 2-day match against Kurunegala SC played at the SLLDC grounds, Kirimandala yesterday.

After being bowled out for 227, Ace Capital CC fought back to capture four Kurunegala SC wickets for 59 runs by stumps. Kurunegala SC, trail by 168 runs with six wickets in hand to gain the crucial first innings lead.

Former Mahanama College, Colombo cricketer Kavindu Amameth was Ace Capital CC’s top scorer making 66 off 112 balls (8 fours). He shared a 93-run stand with Pawan Pathiraja (39). Spinners Dinuka Tennekoon (4/84) and Vathila Udara (3/66) were the most successful bowlers for Kurunegala SC.

Former Sri Lanka Under19 cricketers Wanuja Sahan (2/20) and Traveen Mathew (1/23) removed the first three Kurunegala SC batsmen with the total stagnant on 21. The match continues on its second day along with 11 other matches which commences today. (ST)
