Four decades, five continents, and global reach: this National Logistics Day, Scanwell Logistics celebrates a journey that began in Hong Kong and evolved into a world-class 3PL powerhouse.

Scanwell’s operations spans across South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, anchored by its Sri Lanka hub, and supported by offices in India, Bangladesh, Dubai, Kenya, and Egypt. This combination of regional expertise and international reach allows the group to connect key trade corridors while remaining attentive to the specific needs of each market it serves.

The company’s latest expansion is a container depot in Welisara, has a capacity of approximately 2,700 TEUs and handles the storage, unloading, and collection of both empty and laden containers. Equipped with modern container-handling equipment and management systems, the depot is designed to improve yard efficiency and reduce truck turnaround times.

Scanwell’s approach combines technology, industry expertise, and regulatory compliance. Advanced tracking systems and automation provide clients with real-time shipment visibility, while a team experienced in international trade regulations supports the execution of complex logistics requirements.

Scanwell received the Bronze Award at the National Logistics Awards 2024, presented by the Sri Lanka Freight Forwarders’ Association, in recognition of its operational excellence and customer service. Anton Anderson, Managing Director of Scanwell and Forwardair Group, was separately honored with the Legends of Logistics Award for his contributions to the industry.

The company also holds Ethical Trading Certifications for 2022 and 2023, the Silver Award for Distinguished Service Provider from the National Chamber of Exporters, and Global Logistics Excellence Awards in 2018, 2020, and 2022. 

Scanwell’s corporate responsibility efforts extend beyond its core business. Through its partnership with Bridge2Peace, a non-profit organization established following the 2004 tsunami, the company supports education and community development for underserved communities across Sri Lanka.

In partnership with the Sri Lanka Sub-Aqua Club, Scanwell has also carried out an ocean cleanup project at the wreck site of the SS British Sergeant, removing plastics, fishing nets, and other marine debris as part of its broader commitment to marine conservation and responsible waste management.
