Islamic religious ceremony to mark 66th Independence Day

An Islamic religious ceremony was held at the Colombo Grand Mosque to mark the 66th Independence Day yesterday. It was held under the patronage of Chief Imam of the Mosque Moulavi M.S.M. Thasleem. Divisional Secretary D.P. Wickremesinghe, Dam Street Police Officer in Charge Nalin Weerawardena, National Youth Service Council Colombo Central Officer M.S. Naushad, M.N.M. Azeem, Mohamed Iqbal MMC, Arabic College students and trustees of the mosque were present at the ceremony.
