MS Island Sky cruise ship calls in Sri Lanka

MS Island Sky one of the three flag ships and sister vessel to the MS Caledonian Sky and MS Hebridean Sky and one of the finest small ships in the world, of the Noble Caledonia Cruise made a call at Port of Colombo and Port of Galle in December 2016. 

Onboard there are 57 exceptionally spacious and well-designed suites. All feature a sitting room area and some have private balconies. The feeling of luxury is enhanced by the wood panelling and brass, which predominates throughout the vessel conveying the atmosphere of a private yacht.

The passenger accommodation is arranged over five decks and all suites have outside views. The suites on each deck have their own colour theme. Soft hues and blended tones enhance the traditional maritime style making the passenger accommodation an inviting and relaxing place to be. Caledonian Sky, with The Club and bar above reception on the third (Marco Polo) deck. Seven categories of cabins, spread across five passenger decks, range from Standard Suites (with portholes) to Deluxe Balcony Suites and Owner’s Balcony Suites. 

The vessel calls were handled by M/s. Lanka Shipping and Logistics Ltd. in alliance with M/s. J. M. Baxi & Co. India. The alliance is expected to provide world class ship agency services to all cruise ship owners calling Sri Lankan ports going forward in an effort to improve synergy of knowledge and shipping support. 

Lanka Shipping and Logistics Ltd. Managing Director/CEO Preethilal Fernando stated, “Many services were provided during the vessel calls at Port of Colombo and Port of Galle by his team smoothly and efficiently, which includes passenger and crew changes, supply of provisions, ship spares delivery, supply of bunkers, lube oil and water, medical attention and passenger excursions.” 

Further Fernando stated, “MS Island Sky is scheduled to call once again in Sri Lanka during March ’17 making calls at Colombo, Galle, Hambantota and Trincomalee before she sails to Chennai and other ports in India and she will be back again in Sri Lanka during end March ’17.
