Aitken Spence Cargo enters supply chain services contract with American &Efird Lanka

Exchange of contract between American &Efird Lanka and Aitken Spence Cargo by A & E Lanka CFO Nipuna Wahalathantri and Aitken Spence Cargo VP Jerome Brohier 

Aitken Spence Cargo, the pioneering freight forwarder is driving the expansion of its vertical-based business solutions in areas of apparel, food and beverage, rubber-based manufacture, consumer durables and project cargo logistics. As a part of the expansion initiative the company has sealed its newest contract with American &Efird Lanka Ltd. (A&E Lanka) recently.

American &Efird Lanka Ltd. is a fully owned subsidiary of American &Efird LLC. USA, one of the world’s premier industrial and domestic sewing thread suppliers. They facilitate the backward integration of raw material supply to many key apparel exporters through its global network where A&E’s products are manufactured in 23 countries, distributed in 50 countries and sold in over 100 countries.

The scope of Aitken Spence Cargo’s contract covers the supply chain services starting from management of raw materials (yarn and packing materials) for production to management of finished goods warehouse and arrangement of finished goods deliveries to garment manufacturing locations island wide. In addition, training and development responsibilities also expected to improve efficiencies in distribution management and inventory management.
