Kuwait Airways has promised to return to Sri Lanka after a temporary suspension of its services to Colombo.

“We would like to inform all stakeholders, including the Government of Sri Lanka, the Civil Aviation Authority, and the public at large, that while we at Kuwait Airways are always proud and joyful of what has been accomplished since our first operation to Sri Lanka, it is with our great regret that a decision has been made to temporary suspend our operations to Colombo effective January 2022 due to COVID-19 pandemic consequences,” Kuwait Airways Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives Sudesh Rupasinghe said.

“We assure that our operations will only be suspended temporarily, and we are confident that the airline will be able to resume our flights to Colombo soon,” Rupasinghe added.

Kuwait Airways said it has always been one of the most active airlines operating into Colombo and has operated to Colombo since 1975. Sri Lanka has been a very important route to the Airline and supported by our cooperative and reliable local representative (GSA) Delmege Air Services, and the excellent cooperation between our two friendly countries, has experienced great success.

Rupasinghe also emphasised the higher management’s sincere appreciation towards the Government of Sri Lanka and aviation authorities for the cooperation and assistance extended to date and stressed that Kuwait Airways remains committed to offering its services to Sri Lanka and assured operations will resume sooner rather than later.
