John Keells Logistics Ltd., (JKLL) the logistics arm of John Keells Holdings PLC, has partnered with the Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM), as one of their new institutional members, as well as signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), in order to reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to advancing supply chain excellence across Sri Lanka.

This collaboration brings together one of Sri Lanka’s most respected third-party logistics providers, and the country’s leading supply chain education body. It opens new pathways for knowledge sharing, professional development and innovation, particularly in areas like e-commerce fulfilment, last-mile delivery and smart warehousing.

John Keells Logistics CEO Lasitha Manchanayake said: “We see this as more than just a membership. It is a long-term investment in the future of Sri Lanka’s logistics industry. Together with ISMM, we’re creating space for young professionals to gain real-world experience, whilst also contributing our insights to raise industry standards.”

JKLL provides tailored, end-to-end logistics solutions across multiple sectors, from warehousing and distribution to supply chain consultancy. Its facilities are strategically located near key highways, ports, and industrial zones, allowing it to serve a wide range of businesses with speed and efficiency whilst supporting island-wide distribution.

As an institutional member of ISMM, JKLL will take part in a wide range of academic-industry initiatives, from internship programs and student field visits to customised training workshops and Thought Leadership forums.

ISMM Immediate Past President Jayantha Gallahewa said: “We are grateful to John Keells Logistics for this valuable partnership. Collaborations like these are instrumental in advancing professional standards in supply chain and logistics, and we look forward to the positive impact this alliance will create across the industry.”

The collaboration is expected to play a vital role in shaping Sri Lanka’s next generation of supply chain professionals, while also reinforcing JKLL’s position as a key player in driving forward the country’s logistics landscape.
