ILM Shipping has formally entered into a strategic partnership with Hambantota International Port Group (HIPG) to provide customer service support through a newly established team of Sri Lankan professionals. This initiative is designed to streamline the release of imported vehicles, in compliance with HIPG’s strict operational standards.

Under the terms of the agreement, ILM will deploy a team of ten (one Senior Officer and nine support staff) who will operate on a shift basis to handle vehicle clearance operations at the Hambanthota Port.

Commenting on the collaboration, ILM Shipping Chief Executive Officer Tressel Silva expressed appreciation to HIPG for their confidence in ILM’s capabilities. “We are grateful for the trust placed in us,” Silva said. “This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence and our ability to deliver reliable and reactive service solutions.”

Tressel further emphasised that the team consists of young graduates resident in the surrounding districts, “This is a group of bright, energetic individuals with the knowledge and commitment needed to maintain the highest standards,” he added.

Tressel expressed strong confidence in the new team’s potential and added that before commencing operational duties, the ILM team will undergo an intensive two-week training program. “I am certain that our team will not only meet but exceed expectations” he added.
