Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced that it has welcomed an additional Airbus A320neo to its fleet, located at Bahrain International Airport.
The delivery is the 45th aircraft in Gulf Air’s fleet and represents continued momentum in the airline’s fleet expansion strategy, reflecting Gulf Air’s forward-going approach as it moves ahead with a modernised fleet aligned to its long-term growth objectives.
Designed for efficiency and passenger comfort, the new aircraft features the widest single-aisle cabin on the market. It is also fitted with Sharklets, large wingtip devices that enhance aerodynamic performance, and delivers a 15% fuel burn reduction per seat, supporting improved operational economics across Gulf Air’s narrowbody operations.
In line with the industry’s focus on sustainability, the A320neo offers significant environmental advantages, with less COemissions per year per aircraft and nearly a 50% reduction in noise footprint compared with previous-generation aircraft.
More deliveries of the A320neo are expected during the year, as Gulf Air continues to expand capacity and strengthen its fleet capabilities to support future network plans.
The airline operates to over 50 destinations across the GCC, Asia, Europe, America, Africa, and the Indian Subcontinent. Gulf Air has been recognised as a “Five-Star Major Airline” by APEX for the year 2026, and its fleet comprises 10 Boeing 787 aircraft and 34 Airbus A320/A321 aircraft.
