MV Fesco Olga ready for sailing after drydocking repairs at Colombo

The 2007 built heavy cargo carrier of LOA 138.01 x 21.34 beam called Colombo Dockyard for her third special survey.

The vessel is owned and managed by the branch office at Vladivostok of Far East Shipping Company (FESCO) Integrated Transport Ltd., Russian Federation.

FESCO fleet had previously visited Colombo Dockyard’s facilities during the late 1990s and this is the first opportunity for a dock slot to receive their good fleet to Colombo. FESCO is the largest transport and logistics company in private sector of Russia.

In Colombo she was docked in Dock No. 01. The shipyard carried out general drydocking repairs including full blasting, painting of all cargo holds, windlass repair, extensive renewal of CO2 line and numerous miscellaneous repairs.

The project team was headed by Ship Manager C.M . Kapurubandara and Senior Invoicing Engineer W.G.A.R. Sameera where owner’s interest was looked after by Head of Division – Operations Nikolay Leunov and Superintendent Engineer – Fleet Maintenance Alexander Trifanov. Shipyard complied to all Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) requirements during this call.

The owner representatives, ship officials and ship crew found very satisfied with the job done at Colombo. They witnessed the proactive measures taken by the management of Colombo Dockyard to ensure uninterrupted work on their vessel despite the adverse external factors which Sri Lanka is currently experiencing.

Given the successful completion of project, this opens a strong market for Sri Lanka/Colombo Dockyard to strengthen the business relationship in the maritime sector in longer term. Local Agent Siyomac Shipping Agencies Ltd. looked after the husbandry services of the vessel.
