SriLankan Airlines National Service Union and Lincoln Institute of Graduate Studies announce joint initiative

The SriLankan Airlines National Service Union (SLNSS) and the Lincoln Institute of Graduate Studies, have announced a collaboration with a shared vision to strengthen capacity building across all job titles within the aviation sector.

This partnership is designed to create long-term collaboration opportunities by providing exclusive educational upgrade pathways in Management, Engineering, and Computer Sciences, enabling working professionals to enhance their qualifications while continuing their careers.

The discussion focused on developing tailor-made academic progression routes, flexible study options, and industry-relevant learning experiences aligned with the evolving needs of the aviation and service sectors. Through this collaboration, SLNSS members will gain access to structured academic support, professional upskilling opportunities, and recognised qualifications that contribute directly to career advancement and organisational excellence.

The discussion was attended by SLNSS President Janaka Wijayapathirathna together with Executive Committee Members Janaka Ganegoda and Kumarasiri Pushpashantha, representing the union. Representing Lincoln Institute of Graduate Studies were Chairman and CEO Roshan de Lima and Additional General Manager Chaminda Karunarathne, reaffirming LIGS’s commitment to industry-academia collaboration.

This partnership marks a significant step toward bridging professional experience with academic excellence, fostering continuous learning, and empowering aviation professionals with future-ready skills
