DIMO Academy, the vocational education arm of DIMO, has launched its latest German Diploma in Warehouse Operations, Logistics and Transportation (WOLT), offering 100% guaranteed job opportunities in Germany for students who successfully complete the program. The launch marks a significant milestone in industry-aligned vocational education.

Securing direct employment pathways for WOLT graduates, DIMO Academy has entered into an agreement with Mosecker GmbH and Co. KG, one of Germany’s leading wholesale companies specialising in modern and energy-efficient building technology. The partnership addresses Mosecker’s human capital requirements within its logistics and warehouse operations, while providing Sri Lankan youth with a clearly defined route to overseas employment.

The first intake of the WOLT program commences in April 2026. Applicants must have G.C.E. O/L qualifications with B passes in three main subjects such as Mathematics, English, or Science, or G.C.E. A/L qualifications, with students from any stream eligible to apply.

What distinguishes the WOLT program is its basis in the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) curriculum pool, developed to meet real workplace requirements rather than functioning as a generic academic qualification. Unlike many diploma pathways, including internationally aligned academic programs that focus largely on theory or management-oriented learning, this qualification delivers employer-validated, practical-based preparation directly linked to guaranteed job placement. At the same time, it supports multiple higher education pathways, enabling students to pursue further studies while working.

DIMO Executive Director/Chief Human Resources Officer Dilrukshi Kurukulasuriya said:

“The strength of this diploma lies in its purpose-built design around a real employer requirement. Students are not trained for hypothetical roles; they are made workplace-ready with clear performance expectations and a defined employment outcome. This level of employer validation, combined with guaranteed placement, creates a competitive advantage that goes beyond traditional vocational offerings.”

The course content has been developed in line with German standards as a rigorously industry-aligned vocational pathway, designed to prepare students to perform effectively within live warehouse operations and meet defined workplace performance benchmarks. Key learning areas include Introduction to Logistics and Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, German Language, Optimising Logistics Processes, Procurement, Advanced Inventory Management, Strategic Supply Chain Management as well as Communication and Professional Conduct.

The program is accredited by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, ensuring alignment with globally recognised German dual vocational education and training standards. In Sri Lanka, it is officially recognised by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC), confirming compliance with national vocational education requirements. Training follows a competency-based framework with outcome-driven practical assessments, standardised training processes, quality controls, and internationally validated job-readiness benchmarks aligned with European workplace standards.
