CILT President Chandima Hulangamuwa

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Sri Lanka successfully held its 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April at the prestigious Victorian Ballroom of the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo.

At the AGM, Chandima Hulangamuwa, FCILT, was re-elected as the President of CILT Sri Lanka for the 2025/2026 term, continuing his leadership into a second tenure. His reappointment reflects the confidence placed in him by the membership to further strengthen the institute’s mission of advancing logistics and transport excellence in Sri Lanka.

The following office bearers and council members were appointed for the year 2025/2026: Chandima Hulangamuwa – President, Dr. H.R. Pasindu – President-Elect, Prof. Renuka Herath – Vice President, Gayathri Karunanayake – Vice President, Rajith Ranasinghe – Honorary Treasurer, Givantha Ariyaratne – Honorary Secretary, Dr. Namali Sirisoma – Immediate Past President. Council Members: Anoma Ranasinghe, Chanaka Gunathilake, Chandana Perera, Danushka Jayasinghe, H.A. Premaratne, H. Nadika Kongalage, Dr. Ishani Dias, Kaveen Gayathma, Nilufa Nisam, Nirmal De Fonseka, Niroshini De Silva, Nishan Hewagamage, Pathma Kumara Waranakula, Prabath Dadallage, Dr. Varuna Adikariwattage and Vijitha Weerasinghe.

The AGM highlighted CILT Sri Lanka’s achievements over the past year and outlined the strategic direction for the coming term, reaffirming the Institute’s commitment to professional development, knowledge sharing, and industry leadership.

In his address, President Chandima Hulangamuwa proudly announced that one of the institute’s major milestones was winning the bid to host the CILT International Convention 2025 in Colombo. Scheduled to take place from 13 to 16 September 2025, the event will bring together leaders, professionals, and experts from across the globe.

“One of our biggest achievements this year was winning the bid to host the CILT International Convention 2025 here in Colombo, scheduled for September this year. This global event will bring leaders, professionals, and experts from around the world to Sri Lanka. It gives us a unique opportunity to position our country as a key logistics hub in the region. Preparations are well underway, and I have no doubt we will deliver a convention to remember,” he said.
