UNP kicks off fourth phase of ‘Touring Villages’ campaign

The main opposition United National Party (UNP) over the week-end kicked off the fourth phase of its Grama Charika (‘Touring Villages’) programme in the Kotte electorate of the Colombo District.

The Grama Charika programme was launched last year with the aim of reaching out to the party’s grassroots level membership. Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and deputy leader Karu Jayasuriya participated in the event which commenced at the Naga Viharaya in Kotte at 8 a.m. Yesterday the tour covered Nugegoda with large crowds participating.
