Reuters) - Opener Upul Tharanga struck an unbeaten century to steer Sri Lanka to an eight-wicket win over West Indies under the Duckworth Lewis method in the second one-day international on Thursday.
Sri Lanka lead the three-match series 1-0 after the first game ended in a no-result due to rain.
Man-of-the-match Tharanga made a chanceless 101 off 143 balls including seven fours as Sri Lanka comfortably chased down their adjusted target of 197 off 47 overs after West Indies had been dismissed for 203.
Tharanga shared partnerships of 70 with captain Kumar Sangakkara (20) and an unbroken 97 with Mahela Jayawardene (48 not out).
West Indies, put into bat, were pegged down by accurate bowling and sharp fielding from the Sri Lankans. The Bravo brothers, Darren and Dwayne, top-scored with 39 each.
Lasith Malinga was the pick of the bowlers with figures of three for 30.
The third and final match takes place at the same venue on Sunday when the sides continue their preparations for the World Cup starting later this month.
