Size matters, says Asian Paints’ stall at Architect 2011

The pages of a giant book, standing as tall as a well-built man, will greet visitors to the Asian Paints stall at the Architect 2011 exhibition, which takes place at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Exhibition Centre of the BMICH complex from 23-27 February.

Intended to provide a larger-than-life sneak preview of an innovative new-concept shade guide to be launched in Sri Lanka by the India-headquartered coatings giant, the 6-foot high book on a revolving turntable is expected to be the cynosure of all eyes at this year’s exhibition, the company said.

Visitors to the 200 square-foot Asian Paints stall are to be provided an opportunity to register to receive a miniature version of the new shade guide when it is launched in the market.

“Decorative paint has evolved from being a functional product to a representation of lifestyle, personality, and mood,” said Joseph Pulikottil, Director/General Manager of Asian Paints Lanka. “Asian Paints has driven this transition by changing the way paint is retailed and by generating greater awareness of the significance of colour in our lives. Our new shade guide will exemplify this aspect.”

“Over the years, the Asian Paints stall has been one of the most visited at the architect’s exhibition,” he added. “A lot of planning and effort goes in each year to give visitors an experience that goes beyond what they expect from a traditional exhibition stall.”
