New Independent Non Executive Director at NTB

Nations Trust Bank (NTB) last week announced the appointment of Kemal de Soysa as an Independent Non Executive Director to its Board of Directors from 21 January.

The appointment has been approved by Director Bank Supervision of the Central Bank in terms of Section 42 of the Banking Act.

Kemal holds PhD in History of Science, MPhill in History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine and BA Honours in Natural Sciences from University of Cambridge. He is currently the Country Head of Amba Resarch Lanka Ltd., managing the Sri Lanka based operations of Amba Research Lanka Ltd, the leading provider of investment research and analytics support services to the global capital market industry. He has also served as the Country Delivery Head, Head of Equity Research Delivery and also as the Vice President of Amba Research Lanka Ltd apart from as Head of Equity Research Delivery at Amba Research India Ltd. With the latest appointment the Board of Directors of NTB comprises Ajit Gunewardena (Chairman), E.H. Wijenaike (Deputy Chairman), S. Rajakaruna (Chief Executive Officer/Director), Krishan Balendra, Ronnie Pieris, A.K. Gunaratne, D. Weerakoon, A.R. Rasiah (Senior Director), M.E. Wickremesinghe, C.H.S.K. Piyaratne, M. Jafferjee and K. De Soysa.
