ICC in deal with SNTV, Reuters as news access licensees

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has ensured that news from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will reach every corner of the globe by reaching an exciting agreement with Sports News Television (SNTV) and Reuters for the event.

These deals ensure news broadcasters around the world will have access to news highlights from matches, press conferences, player interviews and event-related stories providing up-to-the-minute information to a billion viewers all over the world.

“The ICC already has a long-standing relationship with SNTV and Thomson Reuters,” said Aarti Singh Dabas, ICC Media Rights and Broadcast Manager.

“We are glad to have both onboard for our flagship event as they have an excellent distribution and global reach, and have previously provided great support to all ICC events including those that form part of the Pepsi ICC Development Programme.

“These partnerships will ensure that news broadcasters and, through them, cricket fans around the world will have access to match highlights and other event news.”

SNTV Managing Editor Andy Parkinson said: “SNTV is delighted to have reached agreement with the ICC for such an important event. It continues the long tradition that we have of working closely with the ICC.”
