Sri Lanka Tourism engages in promotions efforts in Australia

A high-profile Sri Lankan delegation, consisting of Tourism Minister Harin Fernando, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman Chalaka Gajabahu, and Sri Lanka Tourism Ambassador and former cricket captain Sanath Jayasuriya, is currently in Australia to promote Sri Lanka as a premier tourist destination.

During their visit, the Sri Lankan delegation conducted several important meetings aimed at fostering collaboration and expanding promotional efforts for Sri Lanka’s tourism industry. One of the key engagements was with Qantas Airlines, to explore potential partnerships and joint initiatives that would further promote Sri Lanka’s tourism offerings to the Australian market.

Additionally, the delegation also met with representatives from the Flight Centre, a well-known travel agency, to discuss future collaboration opportunities in promoting Sri Lanka as a desirable tourist destination. These discussions centred around developing tailored travel packages, highlighting the unique attractions and experiences Sri Lanka has to offer.

Further expanding their engagement, the Sri Lankan delegation held a meeting with the travel trade industry in Pan Pacific Perth. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen ties with travel industry professionals, exchange insights, and explore avenues for mutually beneficial partnerships. The meeting was attended by the Honorary Consulate of Sri Lanka in Western Australia Rosh Jalagge also participated in the event.

Their collective presence and involvement in these meetings demonstrate a concerted effort to position Sri Lanka as an attractive and sought-after destination for Australian travellers.

Australia is among the key markets identified by Sri Lanka Tourism to capitalise on the boost experienced by the industry over the past six months. Australia, with its diverse population and avid travellers, represents a valuable market for Sri Lanka’s tourism industry. By forging alliances with key players in the Australian travel industry, the Sri Lankan delegation aims to enhance the visibility and appeal of Sri Lanka as a must-visit destination, ultimately attracting a larger number of Australian tourists.
