Cleantech, Sri Lanka’s leading integrated environmental solutions provider certified with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, GRS certification and the ZWL certification, has taken the initiative to introduce a bold strategy to reduce the use of prime plastics through a self-sustaining market system, marking a significant milestone in Cleantech’s sustainability journey.

The event marking the launch of this initiative was held on the 24th of July 2025 at the Courtyard by Marriott, with the participation of dignitaries, company staff and more. Accordingly, Cleantech, under the Re-Circle initiative, becomes the first company in Sri Lanka to establish a full-cycle plastic waste management model encompassing collection, recycling, and reproduction using 100% recycled plastic materials.

The event featured a panel discussion under the title “Innovative Plastic Recycling Initiatives to Beat Plastic Pollution through Self-sustained Market System” with the participation of Mr. Rukitha Nanayakkara - CEO of Cleantech Pvt Ltd, Mr. Jagath Jayasundara - CEO of Abans Electricals PLC, Mrs. Shiranee Yasaratne - Director of Cleantech Pvt Ltd and Mr. Gamini Subasinghe - Senior Environment Specialist.

Committed to paving a path for a cleaner, greener future for Sri Lanka through innovation and commitment, Cleantech continues to champion environmental preservation through a wide spectrum of services, including Environmental Management, Circular Economy solutions with advanced recycling processes, Hygiene Management, City Beautification, Facilities Management, and Water & Wastewater treatment.

This new initiative comes through the belief that every single piece of waste holds a potential as a sustainable asset, which could create value several times over than simply being discarded after one time use.

This integrated approach to sustainable recycling not only supports circular economy principles, but also sets a new benchmark for responsible production and sustainable innovation in the entire South Asian region.
