Sunil Fernando Associates holds SFA Real Estate Symposium

The Shangri-la Hotel in Colombo was abuzz with the SFA Real Estate Symposium, which was organised by Sunil Fernando Associates (SFA), Sri Lanka’s first valuation and advisory firm specialising in providing comprehensive real estate advisory services in valuation, occupier services, capital markets, research, and analytics. This symposium was a grand convergence of thought leaders and experts in the field.

It focused on the theme of ‘Optimising Sri Lanka’s Real Estate for Sustainable Socio-economic Growth.’ The discussions and presentations were poised to be thought-provoking, touching on various facets of the real estate sector that are of paramount significance in today’s context.

Sunil Fernando Associates Founder and Chairman Sunil Fernando welcomed all the esteemed invitees. With over 45 years of experience in valuation, investment, and property advisory services, Fernando is a fellow member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and has previously served as the chairman of RICS Sri Lanka.

The highlight of the event was the keynote presentation delivered by Porter Brook and Associates Ltd., UK Founder and Director Nalin Senevirathne. His expertise in urban development added a global perspective to the symposium’s discussions.

Sunil Fernando Associates Executive Director Dilshan Perera, also gave a presentation emphasising the significance of urban regeneration in today’s real estate landscape.

The symposium featured a panel discussion moderated by Sunil Fernando Associates Managing Director Manju Fernando. The panel comprised of industry experts, including Knight Frank - India Executive Director Saurabh Mehrotra, Sudath Perera Associates Head of Corporate and Commercial Law Dushyantha Perera, Design Advocacy Ltd., Managing Director Piyal Silva and Alliance Finance   Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Romani De Silva. Their collective insights enriched the depth and breadth of discussions throughout the event.

In recognition of the symposium’s value, the event was made available via live streaming for the members of the Institute of Valuers of Sri Lanka (IVSL) and RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).

The SFA Real Estate Symposium 2023 was an undeniable success. Sunil Fernando Associates expressed their intention to host this event annually, collaborating with an even more extensive pool of industry experts.
