Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka President Manilal Fernando has revealed strategic priorities for 2026 with focus on industry development built on three primary pillars.

They are

  • Revitalisation of Infrastructure: CCI is working closely with the Government and international agencies to ensure the resumption of stalled projects and the commencement of new, sustainable infrastructure developments.
  • Technological Integration: To stay competitive, CCI said the industry must embrace Building Information Modeling (BIM), green building practices, and digital project management to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Policy Advocacy: The Chamber remains dedicated to advocating for fair pricing mechanisms, streamlined regulatory approvals, and the protection of local contractors in the global marketplace.

“The construction industry has always been the barometer of Sri Lanka’s prosperity. When we build, the nation grows. This year, our theme is “Resilience through Innovation,” said Fernando.

He urged all CCI members to prioritise skill development and sustainable practices, ensuring that the structures built today serve as a legacy for generations to come.

“Together, we can transform these challenges into a catalyst for a more robust, transparent, and technologically advanced industry,” Fernando emphasised.

CCI Chief also recalled that the past year tested the industry in unprecedented ways. “From navigating economic fluctuations to managing the rising costs of materials, the resilience shown by our professionals and firms has been nothing short of remarkable. However, as we look toward the months ahead, the horizon is beginning to brighten,” Fernando added
