The 21st Build Sri Lanka Housing and Construction International Exhibition which has now become the premier exhibition of the construction industry in Sri Lanka, will be held from 22 to 24 May at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre of the BMICH.

The Exhibition will be declared open by Highways and Urban Development Minister Bimal Ratnayake on invitation by  the Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka President V. Manilal Fernando.

This exhibition is held at a time when the construction industry is beginning to rise after continuous contractions from March 2020 to December 2023, due to the economic debacle resulting in the suspension of capital works of the government. It is also at a time of uncertainty due to the war in the Persian Gulf.

This year, the exhibition is organised under the theme ‹Realigning our construction for Tomorrow› by the CCISL, which is incorporated by an Act of Parliament, as the apex representative body of all who are engaged in the construction sector.

The high degree of enthusiasm displayed by the exhibitors bears proof of their urgency to revive this moribund industry and arguably it is exhibitions such as these that may give a fillip to have the industry rolling.

There is an exceptional line-up of as many as 15 sponsors and many new entrants coming forward as exhibitors for this glamorous yet essential event of the industry. The face of the exhibition this time would be braver and bolder and the organizing committee has left no stone unturned to encompass as many facets as possible to cover the industry. At this event, there would be as many as 300 product display stalls with a variety on show.

The organizing committee has pulled out all steps to make this event as representative as possible and viewers would not find it a disappointing experience. The 2026 Build SL Exhibition would be bigger and better with something for everyone as well as homemakers with soft furnishings amongst the hardware.
